Huawei’s latest Fit challenger has entered the US market; a lightweight fitness watch which is designed to compete directly in the fitness track segment, is embedded with numerous features. It tracks all the basics: calories burned, distance, heart rate, sleep and steps every 10 minutes, displaying notifications from your Android device or smart phone.
The traditional looking aluminium Huawei Fit device; unlike Charge 2, blends into the watch band, is extremely lightweight, comfortable to wear for long term, which you can easily swap with the traditional watch band according to Huawei.
With fine battery life which can last a week on a single charge, Huawei Fit makes it tough for the rival fitness trackers. You can use it as a normal wrist watch for time. The accuracy of Huawei Fit’s heart rate sensor can also be singled out from others which stand at par with the competitors such as Fit-bit Charge 2 and Apple Watch Series. But it does not have its own GPS to track distance, for this you need Huawei Wear App on your phone.
Fitness tracker display quality is dull and it is difficult to operate touch screen when working out or in medium light environment, the device face is black and white 1.04 in. LCD touch screen with 208 X 208 resolutions. Though it has back-lighting also that comes automatically in low light situations and it can also be manually operated by tapping the screen.
Overall Huawei is an excellent example of the genre, though it doesn’t stand out in the crowded market, as tracker market is dominated by Garmin, Fit-Bit and Apple Watch and the price $ 130 is also at par with a number of competitors, but it is light weight, comfortable with good battery backup, Huawei Fit is certainly in the run if you are looking to buy a fitness watch.
