A prototype for the New Mini Countryman has just been spotted

Mini is all set to show its first ever plug in hybrid, though the company is not saying much about it at this point. Still, based on a few press photos of a camouflaged prototype of the new gasoline electric model. The new Countryman will be based on the same front-wheel-drive platform as BMW X1. The Countryman is set to arrive within the next few months, and the plug-in-hybrid version will almost surely be joined by conventional internal-combustion variants. Some of the previously rumored stated that a diesel variant will be available for the United States. Standard of Mini hardtops three and four cylinder turbocharged engines are more likely bets for our version of the small crossover.

This car describes the basic operation of the new hybrid drive train, it will be nearly identical to BMW’s plug-in-hybrid system, with drive modes called Auto Drive, Max eDrive, and Save Battery that utilize the power sources in different ways. If paired with an automatic transmission, it will even adjust your shift points for quicker gear changes.

The Mini Cooper Countryman expected to continue with front-wheel drive. There will also be more potent variants like the Cooper Spe Countryman and another John Cooper Works model, with the latter coming standard with all wheel drive and 228 horsepower on tap. It will be powered with the engine of 1.5-liter inline-3 engines, with the Cooper S and JCW variants getting 2.0-liter inline 4 mills. Turbocharging will feature across the range and transmissions will include standard 6 speed manual, also 6 and 8 speed automatic units.

The customers can feel great about new safety features that will include a head-up display, collision and pedestrian warning systems, a parking assistant and even a speed limit information system.  We’re expecting the new Mini to arrive as a 2017 model. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) starting at $23,600, the same as last year. Mid range Cooper S variants begin at$26,950 with FWD and $28,700 with AWD. At the top is the John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 that begins at an eyebrow-raising $36,200.
